Applied Mathematics B.S.

The Bachelor of Science  in Applied Mathematics program allows a student to gain an understanding of mathematics in its applications, preparatory to work in industry.The program prepares students for employment in areas of applied mathematics. Most of these can lead to graduate work in appropriate fields (e.g., physics, computer science, economics, or engineering). 

 Majors must choose from the options:

  • Computation

  • Dynamics and Control

  • Economics

  • Fluid Dynamics

  • Solid Mechanics and Vibrations

​Standards for Graduation

In all courses used to satisfy the requirements for its major programs, the Department of Mathematics & Statistics requires that a student earn a grade of C- or better and have an overall grade-point average of at least 2.00 in these courses.
