The University of New Hampshire College of Engineering and Physical Sciences (CEPS) is one of a handful of Land, Sea and Space Grant Colleges that affords both graduate students and undergraduate students many research opportunities. Coupled with the completion of the Kingsbury Hall renovations, our mechanical and ocean engineering students enjoy state-of-the-art lab space, wind tunnels, computer clusters and high tech classrooms. Our award winning faculty comes from around the world to teach excellence in the classroom and to introduce students to research and technologies of tomorrow. All of our professors are active researchers that are highly successful at integrating research and instruction in the classrooms and labs.
Mechanical and ocean engineering students at the University of New Hampshire may study towards an undergraduate B.S. degree and may further pursue a graduate M.S. and Ph.D. degree. Graduate students may continue their studies in the fields of Mechanical Engineering as well as Systems Design, Materials Science and Ocean Engineering. An accelerated B.S./M.S. degree offers students the ability to complete their undergraduate and graduate studies in a condensed timeframe.
ME Lecturer Position
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of New Hampshire invites applications for a Lecturer position beginning August 22, 2016. The person will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of a systems and control laboratory course, teaching 3-4 lecture based courses per academic year, and possibly advising senior design project teams. For the systems and control laboratory, the lecturer will work with a professor who has the main responsibility for the course. The lecturer responsibilities for this laboratory include setting up and supervising the laboratory experience, conducting office hours, grading of assignments, and periodic lecture development on request. The lecture based courses could include systems and control, mechanics, engineering design, and/or ocean engineering. The responsibilities for the lecture based courses include lecture development and delivery; conducting office hours and recitations; creating homework, quiz, and exam assignments; grading of assignments; and assigning final course grades. Creative problem solvers. If you like to solve problems and enjoy the thrill of seeing your ideas become reality, chances are you would enjoy engineering. Of course, mechanical engineering also requires an aptitude for math and science, along with good communication and organization skills. Engineering is one of the most challenging majors on campus. The curriculum is demanding and will force you to stretch yourself.
