Manufacturing In Space

Olson Center researchers, along with researchers at multiple institutions have recieved funding for two groudbreaking projects focused on advancing in-space manufacturing. Awarded funds were recived by the National Institute of Standards and Technology for its Advanced Manufacturing Technology Roadmap program and from the National Sience foundation for its Understanding the Sustainability Framework for Convergent In-Space Manufacturing project. Both seek to redefine the space manufacturing landscape as they tackle barriers of cultivating a manufacturing ecnomy in space as well as develop a sustainable in-space manufacturing industry.
