Monday, August 23 

8:30-10:30am     

8:30-10:30am Orientation Begins in Room W131 Parsons Hall General Meeting for new students with Professor Erik Berda, Chair, Professor Meg Greenslade, Graduate Coordinator, Professor Chris Bauer, Chem 800 and Cindi Rohwer, Manager. Topics: Department welcome, Administrative orientation, Chem 800 introduction and assignment, TA assignment letters and more.

Note: Parking is available at the meters on Academic Way, which is the road in front of Parsons Hall until you can obtain a commuter parking pass (if needed).

10:30–12:30pm     Placement Exam #1 (Physical) Room W131
12:30–1:30pm    Lunch Provided: Panera Box Lunch in South West Lobby
1:30-3:30pm     Placement Exam #2 (Organic) – Room W131


Tuesday, August 24

8:00–1:00pm     Graduate School Orientation – virtual with optional sessions from 1pm-2pm
Register at https://gradschool.unh.edu/admissions/financial/graduate-assistant-orientation 

International Students only:
2:00pm-4:00pm International Student Grad complete hiring paperwork. Bring all documentation with you to this meeting. Location MUB Room 330/332.

Domestic Students should use this time to: Get your ID card, Register your computer & phone, and/or walk the campus to orient yourself.

1:00-2:30pm               New graduate student course advising. Located in Room W119 Students will be scheduled and notified of their time for advising. You will be able to register for your courses on-line after your advising session.

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED TRAINING:
  1. Fire Extinguisher Training will be scheduled with EH&S. Cindi Rohwer, Mgr. will send you an email for sessions available. It is mandatory to sign up for one session.
  2. Lab Safety and on-line Hazardous Waste training will be scheduled with EH&S. Cindi Rohwer will send them your UNH email address and they will set you up for access via MyCourses. Hazardous Waste Training must be completed within 2 weeks of email notification by EH&S.
