Welcome New Chemistry Faculty

This year, we welcome two new faculty to the Chemistry Department, Professors Craig Chapman and Anyin Li. Both were hired after extensive nationwide searches. We are delighted to have them join our academic family and we look forward to their many contributions.

Craig Chapman for aesthetic purposesI am a theoretical and computational chemist with a focus on quantum dynamics, specifically as it relates to systems important for energy, materials, and technology. I use computation and analytical theory to study the effect of photoinduced electronic and nuclear dynamics on fundamental processes such as charge and energy transfer in molecular systems.

I'm an avid backpacker and swimmer, and I enjoy cooking and homebrewing.

Anyin Li for aesthetic purposes

I am an analytical chemist with a focus on mass spectrometry (MS). My group uses a wide range of tools to develop new methods. We try to "squeeze" information out of gas phase ions, as much as possible. My group also studies surface science by using gas phase ions as building materials.

In my spare time, I am a soccer player, and I enjoy cooking spicy foods and landing big fishes.
