The Multiscale Materials Processing Laboratory (MMPL) at UNH conducts research on material forming from the macroscale to the nanoscale. The goals of these research projects include understanding the material behavior during deformation and developing manufacturing processes to exploit material characteristics. Support for this research has been provided by the National Science Foundation, local state government, and industry.

The Mechanics, Materials and Manufacturing lab aims to bridge the gap and create an interface between these disciplines, advancing our understanding of manufacturing processes through the use of the fundamental and rigorous tools that these sciences provide. Manufacturing Systems

The goal of this research is to further develop the Design and Manufacturing Laboratory (DML), so that relevant research topics such as the intelligent machining workstation (IMW) can be pursued. The Computational Mechanics Lab conducts research on multiscale numerical modeling of composite materials and structures; mechanical properties of porous media; design and modeling of flexible structures in the ocean environment; sheet metal forming modeling; etc. This research is supported by NSF, NOAA, NH IRC and industrial sponsors.
