Ella Blomfield-Brown

Hi, I’m Ella Blomfield-Brown, a freshman majoring in Environmental Engineering with plans to dual major in Sustainability. My passion for the outdoors, critical thinking, and climate justice inspired me to pursue EnvE. On campus, I am Student Representative, serving as a tour guide. Originally from Ithaca, NY, I love spending my free time hiking and skiing. I’m particularly interested in wastewater management and eager to get involved in undergraduate research. As a member of the Student Advisory Board, I’m excited to help enhance the student experience within the CEE program.
Campbell Sanderson

Hello everyone! My name is Campbell Sanderson and I am a sophomore majoring in Civil Engineering with a minor in Architectural Studies. I am a New Hampshire native from the nearby town of Exeter where I have enjoyed spending time outside as I grew up. My main adventures outside usually consist of long walks down river channels in local woods as I search for places to fly fish. I am on the executive board of the American Society of Civil Engineers’ UNH chapter where I enjoy connecting with peers with similar interests and career aspirations. This past summer I was a research intern at UNH studying culverts and bridge data which has helped me shape my interests towards applying for internships this summer. After my undergrad, I plan on either getting my Masters degree or hopping right into a full-time job. I am eager to represent my peers by being part of this advisory board!
Elisabeth Drakatos

Hello! My name is Elisabeth Drakatos and I am a junior Civil Engineering major at the University of New Hampshire from the Seacoast of New Hampshire. This semester, I am studying abroad in Edinburgh, Scotland at Heriot-Watt University. I am interested in many areas of civil engineering, but more particularly the renewable energy transition, bridge engineering, and water/wastewater treatment. This past summer, I was a Sustainable Engineering Fellow for Shoals Marine Laboratory. I also enjoyed being a Climate Action Consultant for a precast concrete manufacturing company through the UNH Sustainability Institute. On campus, I have been involved with the Society of Women Engineers as the Public Relations Manager, hiking with the New Hampshire Outing Club, and the Hamel Scholars program. I look forward to being a representative on the student advisory board for the 2026 Civil Engineering class.
Grace Burcaw
Hi everyone! My name is Grace Burcaw, and I am a junior studying Environmental Engineering here at UNH. I’m from Nazareth, Pennsylvania and I love long walks, yoga, and running with friends. I chose to pursue a degree in ENE because of my love for the outdoors and my drive to make a difference in the world. In my career, I hope to work in the renewable energy field and have the opportunity to go to space one day. I look forward to serving on the student advisory board to help give every student in the program a great experience during their time here at UNH.
Mia Greig-Ragen

My name is Mia Greig-Ragen. I am currently a Freshman studying Civil Engineering here at the University of New Hampshire. I am from Southern California, and I love going to the beach and traveling. I am currently a student supervisor at Philbrook Dining Hall. I am involved in the concrete canoe club and CRU. I love spending my time on campus getting to meet people and am excited to pursue different opportunities in this field.
Nate Straussberg

My name is Nate Straussberg, and I am a senior environmental engineering major with a mechanical engineering minor from Merrimack, NH. I am on the UNH Ballet Company and participate in the Environmental & Water Resources Institute (EWRI). Outside of academics, I love to dance with local companies, workout at the gym, travel, and longboard/snowboard. I am deeply passionate about the environment and hope to positively impact the world. In the future, I want to research renewable energy and integrate it more into our lives. My plan after graduating is to continue studying at UNH and go for a master’s degree in ocean engineering. I am excited to improve the department by providing valuable feedback!
Paige Hornbeck

Hey everyone! My name is Paige Hornbeck and I'm a Senior with a major in Civil Engineering and a minor in Architectural Studies. I'm from Littleton Massachusetts and I love to go hiking, skiing, and spend my time outdoors and with friends. I am a residential assistant on the InCEPSion floor of Handler Hall, and work at Zeke’s Cafe in Dimond Library. I am also on the executive board of the American Society of Civil Engineer's UNH chapter, am on the CEPS Recruitment Team, and am a member of Fraternity and Sorority Life on Campus. I was so grateful to have had the opportunity to study abroad in Edinburgh, Scotland this past Spring, where I had a life-changing experience while staying on track to graduate this Spring 2025! I’m excited to help and give future wildcats as amazing as an experience as I had these past four years!
Parker Swanson

Hey. My name is Parker Swanson, a Senior Civil Engineering student from Eliot, ME, and I plan to attain my M. Eng in Civil Engineering with a structural focus here at UNH post-grad. I have been working as an intern for the last two years at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for the Structural Engineering Division, as well as tutoring Statics and Strength of Materials part-time in the MaC for the last year. In my free time I like to exercise, play intramurals, watch movies, go to the beach, and hang out with my friends. I also served on my fraternity’s executive board for 3 semesters and wrapped up my treasurer position this past fall. All of these experiences have allowed me to grow significantly while at school, and I am eager to provide insight and work together with the student advisory board to help better the CEE department for the future.
John-Paul Donovan

Hello! My name is John-Paul Donovan, and I am a freshman studying Civil Engineering. I chose this field due to my love of the outdoors, as well as my experience in designing and constructing many backyard projects throughout the years. In my free time, I love to ski, hike, mountain-bike, play basketball, and workout. At UNH, I am a member of ASCE and the Concrete Canoe club, in addition to being regularly involved in intramural sports. I look forward to serving on the student advisory board!
Sofia Anestam

My name is Sofia Anestam and I am a senior environmental engineering and sustainability dual major from Easton, MA. I am currently a climate and energy intern for the UNH Sustainability Institute where I work on UNH’s carbon footprint and energy efficiency projects. I am a member of Chi Omega and the club field hockey team. I love traveling, hiking, skiing, and spending time outdoors. I studied abroad in Stockholm, Sweden, in Spring 2023 where I took part in study visits related to sustainable engineering in Sweden and Iceland. I am looking forward to serving on the advisory board to help give every student in the program the best experience possible!
Stephen Nolin

Hello, my name is Stephen Nolin, and I am a junior Civil Engineering major on track to graduate a semester early. My major is Civil Engineering because I want to use math and science to design structures that will improve infrastructure. On campus, I am the president of the UNH American Society of Civil Engineers Student Chapter, where I am also a co-captain of the concrete canoe team. I am also involved in the residential life side of UNH, where I am a Resident Assistant in Lord Hall. I am active in intramural basketball and broomball.
Thomas Bradley

Hi! My name is Thomas Bradley, and I am a Freshman Environmental Engineering Major. I am from Franklin Massachusetts, and I chose EnvE because of my love for problem solving and passion for the environment. I am currently involved in the school community by being an International Project Lead for UNH’s Engineers Without Borders student chapter, a member of the 3 O'clock Jazz Band as a Trombonist, a member of the Mountain Bike club team, and part of the Ski and Board Club. In my semesters to come I look forward to being able to grow as a student and to find more ways to apply what I learn outside of the classroom. As a member of the Student Advisory Board, I look forward to working with my peers and the department to make the CEE program the best for all.
Travis Carbone

Hey everyone, I’m Travis! I’m a junior environmental engineering student born and raised right here in southern New Hampshire. I have served on the board of executives for Engineers Without Borders as general executive council, and later as treasurer. I have also spent time as a research assistant under Dr. Kinner, working with the Coastal Response Research Center (CRRC), and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
I chose to pursue a career in environmental engineering to tackle the complex challenges induced by climate change and help develop and execute plans to mitigate its effects. I plan to pursue a master’s in business administration after I graduate and combine my technical and business knowledge to push our country towards a more environmentally sustainable future. I will use my time on the student advisory board to gain more insight into the needs of my community and hone my problem-solving skills to deliver for my peers.
Tucker Hadwen

Hello! My name is Tucker Hadwen, and I am a sophomore Environmental Engineering major here at UNH. I’m from Sandown, New Hampshire and have had many family members graduate from UNH. I enjoy skiing, lifting weights, and wrestling. On campus I participate in ultimate frisbee, intermural soccer, and EWRI. Since my freshman year I’ve been involved in various research projects through the Innovation Scholars' program and the Civil and Environmental Engineering department. I’m grateful for all the opportunities and connections I’ve gotten through UNH. Last summer I was fortunate to work at the Hampton Wastewater treatment plant which gave me a lot of technical experience and connections. This summer I’m grateful to be interning at Wright-Pierce at the Bedford and Portsmouth offices. I’m interested in water/wastewater treatment, environmental remediation, PFAS, and solid waste design. I’m also interested in pursuing a master's after I graduate. I’m very excited to be playing a role on the CEE advisory board for Spring 2025!
Zoe Wegrzyn

Hi! I am Zoe Wegrzyn, and I am a sophomore studying Environmental Engineering. I chose this field because I wanted to find a way to intertwine my love of the outdoors and my passion for problem-solving. I am a residential assistant for the InCEPSion floor in Handler Hall, as well as the business manager of Slow Food UNH and a member of the Student Activity Fee Committee. I have recently started undergraduate research with the UNH Cold Regions, Hydrology, and Climate Group, collecting and analyzing snow variability and soil freeze/thaw conditions by surveying and mapping. I love hiking, cooking, climbing, and doing anything creative in my free time. I am thrilled to be able to serve on the Student Advisory Board to give the greatest possible experience to all CEE students!
