What is the CEPS Tech Fund?

In the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences (CEPS), we pride ourselves on always being future-focused and innovative in the dynamic education and diverse experiences we offer our students. Support for our college-wide fund, the CEPS Tech Fund, has long been a significant driver of that mission. In the spirit of innovation and transparency, we are thrilled to announce a reimagining of that fund as the CEPS TECH Fund, with a focus on providing support for Teaching, Excellence, Collaboration, and Highest Priorities. The fund’s new identity will enable us to better tell the story of how each of these areas are critical in supporting our students and shaping the CEPS community.

  • Teaching is the primary fundamental tenet of the college’s mission; this fund directly supports academic opportunities for students in and out of the classroom, as well as the faculty who work hard to provide them.
  • Excellence is a nod to the great work being done throughout the college, with support for faculty research, student projects and programs that will continue to elevate CEPS as a leader in its many disciplines.
  • Collaboration speaks to the interdisciplinary elements of the CEPS experience that build critical connections across our community. Project partners, faculty advisors, peer mentors–the bonds students create today will extend well beyond UNH.
  • Highest Priorities are those initiatives that allow us to remain enterprising and proactive in the rapidly evolving fields of engineering and physical sciences.

It has never been more important for our students to have opportunities to connect, both with eachother and with the broader professional world. By making a gift to the CEPS TECH Fund today, you can make a difference for our students right now while paving the way for the college’s deep traditions of community and philanthropy to carry forward. We hope you will join us in continuing to make CEPS the strongest it can be.

What Does the CEPS TECH Fund Support?

An annual barbeque for CEPS students at the start of the fall semester, that provides a first touchpoint and helps students feel like part of a college-wide community. At CEPS Day students are introduced to the student organizations, peers and faculty who will become central to their UNH experience.

Provides a research-driven introduction to CEPS and welcomes a cohort of first-year students through open doors of opportunity. The program was recently founded to continue a tradition of boundless learning and interconnectedness in scholarly activity.

CEPS students are more likely to identify with an affinity group than students in other colleges at UNH. Over 35 student organizations in CEPS provide high impact experiential learning, on and off campus and abroad. Philanthropic support teaches students that even through their affinity groups, they are part of a CEPS community that gives back.

The CEPS Tech Fund is continually enhancing the student and faculty experience of the college in new and exciting ways. Reach out anytime to learn about the latest programs and initiatives made possible with donor support!

“ Student organizations have been an integral component of my college experience. Nationwide there is a gender gap in the computer sciences, and it can be hard to build relationships in classes alone. I am incredibly grateful to have found my community in Wildcat Women in Computer Science at UNH. Being a part of this group has helped propel me through technical curriculum while giving me opportunities to engage with my peers and fulfill my interests in working with people. Even though it’s my senior year, I dream of sending future members to the Grace Hopper Celebration, a flagship gathering of women in computing. Your support for the CEPS TECH Fund can help make this possible, and more.” - Mallory Cashman ’22

"During my tour of UNH as a prospective mechanical engineering student, the wide variety of clubs and programs had me imagining anything was possible; now, as a senior, I believe it. The CEPS Innovation Scholars program helped me get off to a great start and really get to know my classmates while we took our first steps into the engineering fields. Students are always seeking more opportunities to get involved, collaborate, and build their networks college-wide. Your gift to the CEPS TECH Fund helps support programs like Innovation Scholars, where we can pursue these opportunities from day one." - Christian Lamers ‘22

"I credit National Society of Black Engineers, and the generosity of the CEPS community for providing a huge boost to my student experience, and ultimately my career. Through connections I made in NSBE and the Civil & Environmental Engineering department, I had the opportunity to travel to South Africa to mentor economically disadvantaged middle and high school girls interested in STEM fields. Just as importantly, donor support made it financially possible for me to do so. CEPS made me a priority when it counted most; I hope you will consider supporting the highest priorities of the college with a gift to the CEPS TECH Fund." - DJ Ntumi '17, '18G
