Prof. Arezoo Hasankhani joined the faculty in January 2024 and leads the Energy Control and Optimization (ECO) Lab. Prior to joining the University of New Hampshire, she earned her Ph.D. from Florida Atlantic University and was a postdoctoral scholar at Cornell University.

Her research focuses on energy systems, control, optimization, and power systems. Prof. Hasankhani leads an interdisciplinary research group spanning control, power systems, mechanical design, and ocean engineering, leveraging advanced methods such as reinforcement learning and machine learning to address emerging challenges in energy systems. Her close collaboration with the Ocean Engineering program provides a strong foundation for advancing research in marine energy and supporting applications that contribute to the blue economy.
