Title: Probing new physics with Neutron Beta Decay
Presenter: Nadia Fomin – Professor -University of Tennessee
Host: Nathaly Santiesteban – Assistant Professor – Physics & Astronomy Department -UNH
Abstract:
Neutron beta decay is an archetype for all semi-leptonic charged-current weak processes. The advances in experimental precision as well as recent theoretical progress have revealed tension with the Standard Model in the quark mixing (CKM) matrix. This presentation will review the landscape of precision beta decay (focusing on the program at the Spallation Neutron Source) and give an outlook for results in the near future.
