FORMing the Future - UNH Metal Forming Workshop

Representatives from about 50 companies participated in a metal deformation event at UNH on May 25th, 2016. The event started with faculty talks on the modern practice and tools to benefit the metal forming industry. Then, the visitors toured the UNH manufacturing labs. The stations included sheet stamping, biaxial tension testing, electromagnetic forming and welding, microforming, 3D printing & additive manufacturing and machining. After dinner, the visitors participated in a discussion about the new John Olson Advanced Manufacturing Center that is being launched at UNH. The industry representatives were invited to provide feedback and guidance to the shaping of the center, in the first of a series of similar events that are planned in the future.
